A model that has Mini-Dv and a firewire port is all that is needed. Each time a project is completed, you will be able to go to the editor's and master it to a Mini-DV tape. VHS degrads and DVD has yet to prove itself as reliable. This is the best way to archive your work. Plus it stream lines the process of editing your reel together, all while maintaining the integrity of image and sound quality.
